Senior Purchasing Manager
Division:Unical Aviation
  
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for directing the purchasing of Goods and Services for Unical daily.  The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better pricing, and continue to evaluate the supply base.  Leverages experience to coach and mentor team members. Works with senior management to understand and determine purchasing priorities for self and the team.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Develop, design, lead, and executes processes, standards, and operational plans in support of procurement goals, including RFPs, negotiations, cost accountability, on time delivery of materials, and cross-functional program / project execution.
  • Analyzes and reviews price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to provide input on supply chain optimization.
  • Communicates and collaborates directly with suppliers.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Develop short, mid and long term comprehensive sourcing strategy to help improve margins and maintain a competitive advantage with the industry.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
  • Perform detailed analysis and create reports, where necessary, to determine when improvements or adjustments are needed to provide a superior level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
  • Collaborates cross-functionally on projects in support of procurement activities and drives problem resolution.
  • Partner with senior management and peers to understand project priorities and the value associated with those projects.
  • Work closely with finance and other teams for continuous improvement projects.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree (prefer – Supply Chain Management or Logistics).
  • 10+ years of progressive purchasing and procurement experience.
  • Aviation and/or Manufacturing experience
  • Working knowledge of project management principles and practices
  • Working knowledge of all laws and regulations relating to procurement and contracts
  • Knowledge of purchasing and supply chain systems, LEAN principles of planning and MRP/ERP systems
  • Financial acumen
  • High competency level in MS Office applications
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills (coordination with operations, project managers, department heads and business units)

Salary range:  $120,000 to $150,000

Physical Demands:

This is a sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool, as necessary.

Working Conditions:

This job operates in an administrative office setting. This role routinely uses standards office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.

Travel:  Some travel required.

Language:   Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
