Human Resource Business Partner - 145, MRO, Warehouse

As a HR Business Partner (HRBP) you will be responsible for supporting business objectives and driving results related to HR efforts and directs all HR activities for the Mesa, AZ 145 component repair station, the San Bernardina, CA MRO (maintenance, repair, overhaul) site and the Glendale, AZ warehouse organizations. This position serves as a partner to employees and leaders on HR-related matters and acts as an advocate, a champion and change agent. Provides high level coaching to leaders and employees in order to enhance performance contributions. The role assesses and anticipates human capital needs, partners across all HR functions to deliver value added service and drive initiatives. The HRBP ensures compliance with human resource policies and procedures, employee relations, compensation, training, and state and federal labor law.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Provides consultation and support to supervisors and managers regarding administration of company policies, performance management, discipline, career development, and coaching. Participates in developing goals and objectives.
  • Works with department managers to assist them in carrying out various HR programs and procedures and other personnel matters.
  • Partners with leaders and employees to improve working relationships, communication, engagement and increased productivity and retention. Provides performance management guidance to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Interpret HR policies and procedures, governmental laws, and regulations that protect the interests of both the employees and the company.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day to day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Ensures all federal, state, local laws, and corporate HR-related compliance matters are proactively managed, including but not limited to ADA, EEO, FMLA, and FAA/DOT programs.
  • Manages and resolves employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations working closely with CHRO.
  • Assists with the development of and recommends human resources policies and procedures. Assists in driving various HR initiatives: performance management, goal setting, merit review processes, and career development.
  • Provides HR process and policy guidance and interpretation. Assists with training programs and ensure employees are in compliance with training requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field is required.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of human resources experience, preferably as an HR generalist.
  • Prior experience supporting a manufacturing, warehouse, and/or repair shop type-organization preferred.
  • Knowledge of union and non-union initiatives preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of human resources including organizational development, employee relations, litigation management/avoidance, and performance management, compensation, benefits, training and development, and talent acquisition.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and comfortable with change and ambiguity. Anticipates and strategically plans for changing business needs.
  • Proactively recognizes risks and utilizes appropriate resources to achieve results.
  • Knowledge of labor law compliance – STATE/FEDERAL, ADA, EEO, FMLA, CFRA, LOA, COBRA, FAA/DOT etc.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision.
  • Demonstrated success in building effective relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft office tools, computer skills and familiar with HRIS/Timekeeping systems.
  • Expected base salary:   $100,000 - $120,000.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit for long periods and frequently works with a computer
  • Ability to lift 10lbs

 

Working Conditions: Office setting

 

Travel: Minimal travel 10-25%

 

Language: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.  Proficiency in Spanish a plus.
